Why a published price matters more for a locksmith than for anything else
Locksmithing in Marbella has a reputation problem, and it is deserved. The "desde 60 €" you read on a sticker or a Google ad is an entry price for a job that does not exist. You are standing outside your own door at eleven at night, the technician is already there, and the number becomes €150 or €200 because you are in no position to argue. That is not a locksmith business, it is a pressure business.
We audited 45 home-service companies in Marbella and not one publishes a full price list. Ours is above: €79 to open a door in daylight, €119 at night or on a Sunday, €99 to change a cylinder with the cylinder included. Those are the numbers on the invoice. If the invoice is higher than the price you approved on WhatsApp, the job is free.
30 minutes in Marbella, or €20 off
For a lockout we commit to 30 minutes inside Marbella municipality, and if we are late you take €20 off the price — not as a goodwill gesture we may or may not honour, but written into our terms. Before the technician sets off you get his name and his photo on WhatsApp, so you know who is knocking. He carries ID, a criminal-record certificate and his own liability cover.
Opening without destroying the door
Most residential cylinders in Marbella can be opened without drilling, using bump-resistant technique or a bypass on the latch. We always attempt the non-destructive method first, and we tell you before we start if your lock is one that cannot be opened that way — a high-security anti-bumping cylinder or a multi-point lock that has jammed mid-throw sometimes has to be drilled. In that case you approve the replacement cylinder price before anything is touched. Nothing gets drilled on a maybe.
Community doors, rental turnovers and lost keys
A lot of our locksmith work in Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía is not emergencies. It is a landlord changing a cylinder between tenants, an agency that has lost the third of five keys, an owner who wants an anti-bumping cylinder fitted before the summer rental season. Those are booked jobs at the same published prices, with an invoice carrying our CIF that your gestor or your agency can file.
